If you are looking for a beach destination that combines stunning scenery, great surfing, and family-friendly facilities, you might want to consider Trevone Bay in North Cornwall. Trevone Bay is a sandy beach that is surrounded by cliffs and situated in an area of great geological interest. It is located about two miles west of Padstow, a charming fishing town that offers plenty of attractions and amenities.

Trevone Bay is popular with surfers of all levels, as it produces good waves from low to mid tide. There are right-handers from the rocks on the right, a peak in the middle that has mainly rights and shorter lefts, and lefts off the left-hand side of the bay. The beach is lifeguarded from May to September, but be aware of the powerful rip current on the right side of the beach. If you are new to surfing or want to improve your skills, you can book lessons with one of the local surf schools.

Trevone Bay is also a great place for families, as it has golden sand and little alcoves to sit and watch away the day. There are plenty of rock pools to explore, as well as a big tidal pool that is ideal for splashing around in. The beach has toilets, a cafe, and a shop, as well as two large car parks at either end of the beach. Dogs are welcome on the beach except between 15th May and 30th September (10am-6pm) when a seasonal dog ban is in place.

One of the most striking features of Trevone Bay is the blow-hole known as Round Hole, an 80ft (25m) deep hole in the cliffs formed from a collapsed cave. You can walk up to the cliff top and admire this natural wonder, but be careful not to get too close to the edge. The cliffs also offer fantastic views of Hawkers Cove, the Camel Estuary, and beyond. You can follow the coastal path to explore other nearby beaches such as Harlyn Bay and Constantine Bay.

Trevone Bay is a beautiful gem in the Cornish crown that has something for everyone. Whether you want to surf, swim, sunbathe, or stroll along the cliffs, you will find Trevone Bay a relaxing and rewarding destination. If you want to stay longer than a day, you can choose from a range of accommodation options in Trevone village or Padstow town. Trevone Bay is a place that will make you fall in love with Cornwall.
